Village of Mead Planning Commission meeting and public hearing minutes for April 23rd, 2018

7:30 p.m.

The Planning Commission members present were Jody Weible, Levi Durnal, Jim Halbmaier, Connie Schliffke, Melissa Konecky and Wyatt Swartz who arrived at adjournment.  Rick Miller and Matt Bratsburg were absent.  Guests attending were John Schnell, Josh Girmus, Dan Meier, Jodi Ruhe, Ed Ruhe, Scott Subbert, Veronica Subbert, Jon Meier, Sara Meier, Greg L. Scott. and Ray Huckaby Sr., Ray Huckaby Sr., Greg L. and Scott S.  We approved the agenda.

At 7:31 p.m. we adjourned to a public hearing with a roll call vote during which we discussed Girmus Investments LLC’s intention to subdivide property to create Girmus Subdivision which would be 9 (approximately) 3-acre lots west of Joyce Circle.  One of the attendees recommended a drainage study.    Drainage easement and the graphic scale needs to be in the final plat. Increased traffic will be an issue.  Jim motioned, and Connie seconded, that we approve Girmus Subdivision with concerns addressed.

At 7:40 p.m., Jim motioned, and Levi seconded, that we adjourn this part of the public hearing.  All agreed.

At 7:42 p.m., we adjourned to a public hearing to consider subdivide Raymond J. Kucera Jr.’s property to create Subbert Subdivision.  They will be adding one acre around an already-existing business.  There is a question of zoning that needs to be investigated.  Levi motioned, and Connie seconded, that we approve this plat.  All agreed.

We then adjourned and returned to our regular planning commission meeting.

Richard Kuhr submitted a demolition permit to demolish a garage on his property.  Connie motioned, and Jim seconded, that we approve the demolition permit application.  All agreed.

Richard Kuhr submitted a building permit application for a larger garage on his property in a different location.  The land is Ag.  Jim motioned, and Levi seconded, that we approve the building permit application.  All agreed.  

Mead Public School, 115 No. Elm, submitted a building permit application for two chin link fences.  Connie motioned, and Jim seconded that we approve the building permit application.  All agreed. 

Adam Miller submitted a building permit application for a 6 foot wooden privacy fence,  27 feet from the side yard lot line and 1 foot from the rear lot line.  Connie motioned, and Jim seconded, that we approve the building permit application.  All agreed.

At 8:01 p.m., Jim motioned, and Jody seconded, that we adjourn the meeting.  All agreed.
