Village of Mead Planning Commission meeting of November 28th, 2016
The Village of Mead Planning Commission met Monday, November 28th, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Levi Durnal, Matt Bratsberg, Wyatt Swartz, Jody Weible and Melissa Konecky. Connie Schliffke, Rick Miller and Jim Halbmeier were absent.
We adopted the agenda. Wyatt motioned, and Matt seconded, that we approve the minutes from the two previous meetings as they stand. All agreed.
We proceeded with the public hearing at 7:34 p.m. We adopted the agenda. We discussed the following corrections to the zoning regulation text. Levi motioned, and Wyatt seconded, that we recommend to the Board of Trustees that the following corrections be made:

Chapter 11, Article 3, Section 11-306 D.3., Attached dwelling shall be a minimum lot area of five thousand (5,000) square feet per dwelling unit, as opposed to four thousand (4,000) square feet per dwelling unit.

Chapter 11, Article 3, Section 11-306 D.5., Two family: Five thousand (5,000) square feet per dwelling unit, as opposed to four thousand (4,000) square feet per dwelling unit.

Chapter 11, Article 3, Section 11-307 D.1., Minimum lot size shall be ten thousand (10,000) square feet, as opposed to eight thousand (8,000) square feet, with a minimum width of 75 feet (as opposed to 60 feet) for single family dwellings. Two family and multiple family dwelling lot size shall be ten thousand (10,000) square feet and shall have a minimum width of seventy five (75) feet as opposed to seventy 70 feet.

Chapter 11, Article 3, Section 11-307 D.2., Attached dwelling or multiple family shall have a minimum lot area of ten thousand (10,000) square feet as opposed to eight thousand (8,000) square feet.

Chapter 11, Article 4, Section 11-404 shall state: The required rear yard may be reduced to twenty (20%) percent of the depth of the lot. An accessory building may be built within a required rear yard when located at least four (4) feet from the rear lot line and when occupying not more than thirty (30%) percent of the area of such required rear yard, as opposed to five (5) feet.
Related items discussed were the fact that apartments would not have a lot size of 5,000 square feet per unit, a duplex is a two family dwelling, and a multi-family dwelling would house three or more families.
There being no other business, at 8:30 p.m. Wyatt motioned, and Melissa seconded, that we adjourn the meeting. All agreed.
