VILLAGE OF MEAD – PLANNING COMMISSION

REGULAR MEETING MINUTES – SEPTEMBER 25, 2023

Mead Village Office, 312 S. Vine St.

 

The Village of Mead Planning Commission met Monday, September 25, 2023, at 6:40 pm. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Levi Durnal with roll call. Present were Levi Durnal, Robert Morin, and Wyatt Swartz. Absent were James Halbmaier, James Hannan, and Andy Jackson. Guest was Leonard Bouc.

 

Chairman states: “The Village of Mead makes available at least one current copy of the Open Meetings Act posted in the meeting room at a location accessible to members of the public.  The Act is posted in the front entry of the Village Office.”

 

Robert motioned, and Wyatt seconded the motion to approve the agenda. All members present agreed.

 

Motion by Robert, second by Wyatt, to approve the minutes of the July 24 Regular Meeting and September 14 Special Meeting. All members present agreed.

 

Motion by Wyatt, second by Robert, to adjourn to a Public Hearing at 6:42 pm. All members present agreed.

 

PUBLIC HEARING

The hearing was called to order at 6:42 pm.

 

Motion by Robert, second by Wyatt, to adopt the agenda. All members present agreed.

 

The Chair stated the purpose of the hearing was to hear testimony of support, opposition, criticism, suggestions, or observations on an application from Darin and Susie Egr for a simple-lot split on property described as:

 

Parcel 1: Lot 12 and the north half of Lot 11, Block 16, Anderson and Carlson’s Addition to the Village of Mead, Saunders County, Nebraska, and

 

Parcel 2: Lot 10 and the south half of Lot 11, Block 16, Anderson and Carlson’s Addition to the Village of Mead, Saunders County Nebraska.

 

The Chair called for public input.

 

Motion by Robert, second by Wyatt, to adjourn at 7:00 pm. All members present agreed.

NEW BUSINESS

Motion by Robert, second by Wyatt, to approve the Application for a lot split from Darin and Susie Egr on:

 

Parcel 1: Lot 12 and the north half of Lot 11, Block 16, Anderson and Carlson’s Addition to the Village of Mead, Saunders County, Nebraska, and

 

Parcel 2: Lot 10 and the south half of Lot 11, Block 16, Anderson and Carlson’s Addition to the Village of Mead, Saunders County Nebraska.

 

All members present agreed.

 

The following permits have been approved by the Zoning Administrator: Building Permit 23-10 AltEn, 1332 Co Rd 10 to install a 6’ galvanized chain-link fence (A-1); 23-11 Girmus Investments, 1064 Sunburst Lane to erect an addition of 6’ chain-link fence (M-1); 23-13 AltEn, 1344 Co Rd 10 to install an access road and wheel wash for site operations (A-1); 23-14 SBBM, Inc. 1449 Girmus Drive to erect a fence and wooden deck (SR); and 23-15 Greg and Laura Clark, 421 S. Cedar to install a 6’ chain-link fence and 6’ privacy fence (R-2).

 

At 7:55 pm the Chair called for adjournment. Levi motioned, and Wyatt seconded. All members present agreed.
