VILLAGE OF MEAD – PLANNING COMMISSION
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES – April 24, 2023
Mead Community Building, 220 E. Fourth St.
The Village of Mead Planning Commission met Monday, April 24, 2023, at 6:30 pm. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Levi Durnal with roll call. Present were Levi Durnal, Robert Morin, Connie Schliffke, and Wyatt Swartz. Members not in attendance were Jim Halbmaier and James Hannan.
Chairman states: “The Village of Mead makes available at least one current copy of the Open Meetings Act posted in the meeting room at a location accessible to members of the public. The Act is posted in the front entry of the Community Building.”
Robert motioned, and Connie seconded the motion to approve the agenda. All members present agreed.
Connie motioned, and Robert seconded the motion approve minutes of the March 27 regular meeting and April 12 special meeting.
SCHEDULED GUESTS: No Scheduled Guests.
The Chair called for a motion to adjourn to a public hearing.
Robert motioned, and Wyatt seconded the motion to adjourn to public hearing. All members present agreed.
The Chair calls for a motion to adopt the agenda.

PUBLIC HEARING:
Chairman states purpose of the hearing is to hear testimony of support, opposition, criticism, suggestions, or observations with regard to the following:
A petition for a variance and/or interpretation to the zoning regulations as applied to property
described as E % S 4′ Lot 13 E % Lots 15,17,19, and 21, Block 32, Original Town Mead, Mead,
Saunders County, Nebraska also known as 421 S. Cedar St., Mead, Nebraska will be addressed.
The petition from Greg and Laura Clark is to place a modular home on the property. The petition is
seeking a variance of Section 11-307 that will not meet the minimum lot size and front yard and rear
yard setbacks.
The Chairman calls for public input.
No individuals present expressed opposition to the application.
Chairman calls for a motion to adjourn to Regular Session
Connie motioned, and Robert seconded the motion to return to Regular Session. All members in attendance agreed.
Following discussion, the Chair called for a motion to recommend the Village Board approve the variance application.
Robert motioned, and Connie seconded the motion. All members in attendance agreed.

NEW BUSINESS
The board reviewed the following information.
The following permits were approved: 23-05 Rodney and Peggy Wimer, 28 N. Oak St. – install
roof over patio (R-2)
At 7:00 pm the Chair called for adjournment. Connie motioned, and Wyatt seconded. All members present agreed.
