Village of Mead Planning Commission meeting and public hearing of October 23rd, 2017
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Present were Jim Halbmaier, Levi Durnal, Rick Miller, Jody Weible and Melissa Konecky. Matt Bratsburg, Wyatt Swartz and Connie Schliffke were absent. We adopted the agenda. Jim motioned, and Rick seconded, that we approve the minutes from the previous meeting. All agreed.
At about 7:32 p.m. we conducted the public hearing regarding amending chapter 11 zoning regulations by adding zoning regulations regarding storage containers and propane tanks. Storage containers would be placed in residential areas for no more than 30 days. Jim motioned, and Rick seconded, that we recommend amending/adding regulations for:
11-202 Terms, Definitions, Storage Containers
11-305 B. Conditional Uses 11. Storage Containers
11-306 C. Conditional Uses 8. Storage Containers
11-307 C. Conditional uses 5. Storage Containers
11-308 B. Conditional Uses 1. Storage Containers
and all agreed.
Rick motioned, and Jim seconded, that we recommend adding an additional regulation under E. in 11-314 regarding performance standards. All agreed.
Rick motioned, and Levi seconded, that we recommend adding a section about propane tank safety in 11-4-6. All agreed.
The public hearing was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
Continuing with our regular meeting, Don Anderson submitted a demolition application for a house and accessory building at 419 S. Vine. Levi motioned, and Rick seconded, that we approve the application. All agreed.
Angie Siske submitted a building permit application for a post barn/garage at 1035 Co. Rd. N. Levi motioned, and Rick seconded, that we approve the application. All agreed.
We wondered whether the village could get sued if someone ever wandered over to the unfinished house on E. 4th Street and fell into the basement that often has water in it.
Jim motioned, and Melissa seconded, that we adjourn the meeting at 7:55 p.m.
