The Village of Mead Planning Commission met Monday, March 27th, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Jody Weible, Connie Schliffke, Levi Durnal, Rick Miller, Matt Bratsberg, Rick Miller, Jim Halbmeier and Melissa Konecky. Wyatt Swartz was absent. We adopted the agenda. Rick motioned, and Connie seconded, that we approve the minutes from the previous meeting. All agreed.
John and Laura Benal submitted a demolition permit application for their wood deck. Rick motioned, and Connie seconded, that we approve the permit application. All agreed.
John and Laura Benal submitted a building permit application for a concrete covered porch. Rick motioned, and Connie seconded, that we approve the permit application. All agreed.
Rusty Lihs submitted a building permit application for a privacy fence for part of their property. Matt motioned, and Rick seconded, that we approve the building permit application. All agreed except Levi. The permit application was approved.
We discussed how frequently permit applications are not filled out properly, often lacking setback and other measurements. The drawings are sometimes undecipherable. This sometimes delays approval of the permit applications.
We recommend that storage pods not be used as permanent storage units.
Many people have complained about dogs running lose. Some of the dogs charge at people and some run up wanting to play but scare people, especially if they are large dogs. What can be done about this?
At 8:02 p.m., Rick motioned, and Jim seconded, that we adjourn the meeting. All agreed.
Melissa Konecky, Recording Secretary
