Village of Mead Planning Commission meeting of July 27th, 2015
The Village of Mead Planning Commission met Monday, July 27th, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Jody Weible, Connie Schliffke, Jennie Grasiani, Ruth Dobesh, Jason Felty and Melissa Konecky. Levi Durnal and Rick Miller were absent. Jeff Hansen was a guest. Connie motioned, and Jason seconded, that the minutes from the previous meeting of June 22nd, 2015, be approved. All agreed.
Jason Felty is a new member of the Planning Commission.
Alma Lutheran Church submitted a demolition permit application to take down the garage on the property. Connie motioned, and Jason seconded, that we approve the permit. All agreed.
Alma Lutheran Church also submitted a building permit application for a garage on the property that meets all setbacks. Jennie motioned, and Connie seconded, that we approve the permit. All agreed.
Aaron and Sherri Seaman submitted a building permit application for a 6’ cedar privacy fence on their property at 213 South Elm. The fence is in anticipation of a pool. Jennie motioned, and Melissa seconded, that we approve the permit. All agreed.
A demolition permit for Insulfoam to take a building down was on the agenda but we did not have the application so no action was taken. It was noted that Insulfoam cannot simply bury the building once it is taken down.
The owners of the trailer court want to take out some older trailers and put in some newer, larger ones. Currently the excess trailers are grandfathered in but, once changes are made, that will no longer be the case. There are no hard-surfaced driveways and setbacks will not be met so we would have no choice but to turn down this request. All agreed that because of zoning ordinance 11-308, E., 1 through 5, and perhaps others, the owners of the trailer court would be required to submit written plans, including diagrams, with specifics of changes they wish to make.
At 8:00 p.m., Jennie motioned, and Connie seconded, that we adjourn. All agreed.
Melissa Konecky, Recording Secretary
