The Mead Planning Commission met Monday, January 26, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.
Present were Jody Weible, Melissa Konecky, Connie Schliffke, Steve Kadavy, Rick Miller and Jennie Grasiani. Levi Durnal was absent.
Connie motioned, and Rick seconded, that we adopt the agenda and approve the minutes from the November 24, 2014 meeting.
We reviewed the 2014 building permits and noted there were not many.
We discussed the removal of the shed from property where old concrete grain elevator was demolished. Since the shed was inadvertently omitted from the demo permit, the recommendation of the Planning Commission is that no further action be taken.
We reviewed the Plat for the Hannan Subdivision. It was mentioned that it is a low lying area. We wonder if flooding will be a concern. We questioned whether they have city water. We determined that everything looks in order.
We addressed the unfinished business of reviewing the comprehensive plan zoning regulations. Under the Agriculture Zoning we would like to have regulations put in place regarding installation of radio and telephone towers. We feel the regulations that Wahoo require would be sufficient. We also feel it would be beneficial to have stated that “no landfills, junkyards, commercial feedlots or rendering plants” would be allowed within one mile of town. We plan to go through sections of the zoning book at each meeting.
At 7:50 p.m Jennie motioned to adjourn the meeting. Melissa seconded and all approved.
Jennie Grasiani, Recorder
