Village of Mead Planning Commission meeting
March 25th, 2019
The Village of Mead’s Planning Commission met Monday, March 25th, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Levi Durnal, Connie Schliffke, Jody Weible, Melissa Konecky, Rick Miller and Wyatt Swartz. Matt Bratsburg and Jim Halbmaier were absent. We approved the agenda. Connie motioned, and Rick seconded, that we approve the minutes from the February 25th regular meeting. All agreed.
Toni Roberts submitted a demolition application to remove the deck from her house. Rick motioned, and Wyatt seconded that we approve the permit. All agreed.
David VanVleet has requested a hearing on April 9th to for a variance for a fence. According to 11-410, the part of the fence between the front setback line and the front lot line shall not exceed 3.5’ and shall not be of solid construction. His application is asking that the fence be less than 25’ for the front depth and the fence be a solid 6’ vinyl fence.
We briefly discussed the ethanol plant the odor, trailings, and the odor of the substance spread on the nearby farm fields. Jody has been meeting with Representative Bostelman, the NDEQ and others trying to solve the problem of the odor and toxic seed piling up there.
At 7:54, Rick motioned, and Watt seconded, that we adjourn the meeting. All agreed.
