Village of Mead Planning Commission meeting of July 25th, 2016

The Village of Mead Planning Commission met Monday, July 25th, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.  Present were Jody Weible, Connie Schliffke, Rick Miller, Levi Durnal and Melissa Konecky.  Kent and Linda Sweet and Mike Maly were guests.  Wyatt Swartz, Matt Bratsburg and Jim Halbmaier were absent.

Connie motioned, and Levi seconded, that we approve the minutes from the previous meeting as they stand and adopt the agenda.  All agreed.

Kent and Linda Sweet submitted a building permit application to construct a privacy fence in part of their backyard.  It met all setbacks.  Rick motioned, and Connie seconded, that we approve the building permit application.  All agreed.

Mike Maly submitted a building permit application for a 4’ chain link fence on his side yard.  It met all setbacks.  Rick motioned, and Levi seconded, that we approve the building permit application.  All agreed.

11-306, B., 2., in Mead’s ordinance states that “Setback requirements to four (4’) foot minimum for the rear yard and side yard for accessory sheds less than one hundred fifty(150) square feet” from the property line.  However, a resident of Mead was told by the inspector that their new 140 square foot shed did not have to be set back 4’.

The Planning Commission needs to address an old discrepancy in the ordinance book and will do so at the next meeting and also recommend any other changes needed.  In line 3 of 11-403 (SIDE YARD), “five (5’) feet” should say “four (4’) feet”.  In line 2 of 11-404 (REAR YARD DEPTH), “five (5’) feet” should say “four (4’) feet”.

At 7:58 p.m. Connie motioned, and Melissa seconded, that we adjourn the meeting.  All agreed.
