Village of Mead Planning Commission meeting
Monday, June 24th, 2019
The Village of Mead Planning Commission met Monday, June 24th, 2019 at 7:33 p.m. Present were Levi Durnal, Rick Miller, Connie Schliffke, Scott Morin and Melissa Konecky. Guests were Jason Schutes, Jody Weible and Laura Benal.
Connie motioned, and Rick seconded that we approve the agenda. All agreed. Rick motioned, and Melissa seconded, that we approve the minutes from the May meeting. All agreed.
Connie motioned, and Rick seconded that Jim Halbmaier and Matt Brattsburg not continue as Planning Commission members because their schedules do not often permit them to make it to meetings; that Rick be Chair, Levi Vice-Chair, and Melissa Secretary; and that Jason Schutes become a Planning Commission member. All agreed.
Connie motioned, and Levi seconded, that we adjourn the regular meeting at 7:43 p.m. to conduct a public hearing regarding the addition of “any manufacturing plants, especially ethanol plants, the end product or by-product must be fed directly to cattle” in Ag, Light Industrial and Heavy Industrial. All agreed. Seeds are piling up out at the ethanol plant that cannot be eaten by cattle because of pesticides on them. There were a few issues to be figured out and the issue is tabled until we can find out more information. At 8:14 Levi motioned, and Connie seconded, that we adjourn the public hearing and return to the regular meeting.
Melissa motioned, and Connie seconded, that we void building permit application 19-03 to erect a fence since the family is moving. All agreed.
Crystal Konecky was on the agenda for a building permit application to construct a fence but there was no permit application.
Robert and Laurie VanAckeren submitted a building permit application to construct a deck. Connie motioned, and Melissa seconded, that we approve the permit. All agreed.
John and Olivia Myers submitted a building permit application to construct a deck. Levi motioned, and Melissa seconded, that we approve the permit. All agreed.
Jason Schutes submitted a building permit application to construct a fence. It does not meet setbacks so he will go to the Village Board to see about a variance.
Travis and Kate Wagenknecht submitted a building permit application to construct a fence. Connie motioned, and Melissa seconded, that we approve the permit. All agreed.
Tom and Tammy Leonard were on the agenda for a building permit application to construct a fence but there was no permit.
Rick Miller submitted a building permit application to erect a fence. Connie motioned, and Levi seconded, that we approve the permit. All agreed.
At 9:24 p.m., Levi motioned, and Connie seconded, that we adjourn the meeting. All agreed.
