Village of Mead Planning Commission Meeting

The Village of Mead Planning Commission met Monday, September 23rd, 2019 at 7:32 PM. The meeting was called to order by President Rick Miller with roll call. Present were Levi Durnal, Matt Bratsburg, Connie Schliffke, Robert Morin, Wyatt Swartz, and Rick Miller. Visitors attending were Josh Girmus, Jody Weible, Gary Preister, Roger Thompson, and William Thorson.

Connie motioned, and Wyatt seconded, to approve the agenda. All agreed. Connie motioned, and Wyatt seconded, to approve the minutes from the August meeting. All agreed.

Roll call was made for a public hearing. Present were Levi Durnal, Matt Bratsburg, Connie Schliffke, Robert Morin, Wyatt Swartz, and Rick Miller. A motion to approve the public hearing agenda was made by Connie and seconded by Levi. All agreed. The application from Greg Kucera for a single-lot split was read aloud. No public input provided. Levi motioned, and Connie seconded, to return to regular session.

Mr. Kucera’s application was discussed. Connie motioned, and Levi seconded, to approve the application. All agreed.

Connie motioned, and Levi seconded, to adjourn to public hearing. All agreed. Rick conducted roll call. Present were Levi Durnal, Matt Bratsburg, Connie Schliffke, Robert Morin, Wyatt Swartz, and Rick Miller. Levi motioned, and Connie seconded, to approve public hearing agenda. All agreed. The application from Donna Darnell for a sing-lot split was read aloud. Rick called for public input. No input provided. Wyatt motioned, and Connie seconded, to return to regular session. All agreed.

Ms. Darnell’s application was discussed. Wyatt motioned, and Connie seconded, to approve the application. All agreed.

The commission then addressed new business:

  1. Connie motioned, and Matt seconded, to approve permit for water tower and fence. All agreed.
  2. Levi motioned, and Connie seconded, to approve William Thorson’s request to move depot. All agreed.
  3. Connie motioned, and Wyatt seconded, to approve Girmus Investments’ application to move a house onto property at 1446 Girmus Drive. All agreed.
  4. Levi motioned, and Wyatt seconded, to approve Girmus Investments’ application to construct a well and septic system at 1446 Gurmus Drive pending LAMP plotting/testing and NDEE certification. All agreed.
  5. Wyatt motioned, and Connie seconded to approve Girmus Investments’ application to construct a shop/office and 6’ fence at 1058 Sunburst Lane. All agreed.
  6. Connie motioned, and Matt seconded, to approve Girmus Investments’ application to construct a well and septic system at 1058 Sunburst Lane. All agreed.
  7. Matt motioned, and Levi seconded to approve Gary Preister’s application to construct a pole barn with living quarters on his property at 1059 Girmus Drive. All agreed.
  8. Wyatt motioned, and Connie seconded, to approve Gary Preister’s application to construct two wells and septic system at 1059 Girmus Drive. All agreed.
  9. Levi motioned, and Connie, seconded to disapprove Greg and Laura Clark’s application to construct a house/garage or place a modular and erect a garage at 421 S. Cedar Street, on the basis that the lot size is too small per 11-306 D1. All agreed.
  10. Wyatt motioned, and Levi seconded, to void Building Permit #18-17 because it had expired. All agreed.
  11. Connie motioned, and Wyatt seconded, to void Building Permit #19-07. All agreed.

At 9:20 PM, Levi motioned, and Wyatt seconded, to adjourn the meeting. All agreed.
