Village of Mead Planning Commission Meeting of May 23rd, 2016

 

The Village of Mead Planning Commission met Monday, May 23rd, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.  Present were Wyatt Swartz, Rick Miller, Jody Weible, Connie Schliffke and Melissa Konecky.  Levi Durnal and Matt Bratsburg were absent.  Guests were Jim Halbmaier, Greg Larson, Russ Larson and James Malik.  Rick motioned, and Connie seconded, that we adopt the agenda and approve the minutes of last month’s meeting and public hearing with the correction that Melissa Konecky and Connie Schliffke were reappointed as Planning Commission members.  All agreed.

Curtis Pearson and Rusty Lihs were on the agenda as submitting building permit applications but there were none.

Russell and Greg Larson submitted a demolition application for a barn at 1508 County Road 11.  Connie motioned, and Wyatt seconded, that we approve the application. All agreed.

James and Linda Malik submitted a building permit application for a garage at 19 North Pine.  Wyatt motioned, and Rick seconded, that we approve the application.  All agreed.

Jon and Amanda Lee submitted a building permit application to extend their front deck 4.5 feet to the south.  Rick motioned, and Connie seconded, that we approve the application.  All agreed.

Nick Raver submitted a building permit application for a 6 foot wood fence on his property at 317 South Cedar.  Rick motioned, and Wyatt seconded, that we approve the permit application.  All agreed.

It was asked by different town residents whether the shed (or garage) in Barris’s back yard is unstable and unsafe, whether Wellman’s garage with the tarp on the top is safe and also if the hole that was to be a basement on the east side of town (Perry Storm) is unsafe since the side of the wall has caved in.  A child could fall into it.
