VILLAGE OF MEAD – PLANNING COMMISSION
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES – JULY 10, 2023
Mead Community Building, 220 E. Fourth St.
The Village of Mead Planning Commission met Monday, June 12, 2023, at 5:30 pm. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Levi Durnal with roll call. Present were Levi Durnal, Robert Morin, and James Hannan. Members not in attendance were, Jim Halbmaier, and Wyatt Swartz.
Chairman states: “The Village of Mead makes available at least one current copy of the Open Meetings Act posted in the meeting room at a location accessible to members of the public. The Act is posted in the front entry of the Community Building.”
Robert motioned, and James seconded the motion to approve the agenda. All members present agreed.

NEW BUSINESS
Discussion on the Future Land Use Map. Members from both board’s posed many questions and concerns.
Clarification and addition of Suburban Residential to the Matrix of Land Use Categories was discussed.
Consideration of the addition of a Flex District was discussed. A suggestion was made that if Flex Zoning were added that the district would be reviewed every five, or possibly even every two years.
Transitional Ag as a potential Zoning District, and how it would relate to a Suburban Residential zoning district was discussed.
Mr. Hermann was directed to add additional details related to the current zoning within districts as compared to proposed future zoning on the Land Use Map.
The boards tabled much of the discussion related to the Future Use Land Matrix until Mr. Hermann can update the zoning map and matrix to reflect the board’s items of interest and concern.
At 7:55 pm the Chair called for adjournment. James motioned, and Robert seconded. All members present agreed.
