Village of Mead Planning Commission meeting
February 26th, 2018
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Present were Jody Weible, Connie Schliffke, Rick Miller, Levi Durnal and Melissa Konecky. Wyatt Swartz, Jim Halbmaier and Matt Bratsburg were absent. Keshia Havelka, Scott Selko, Terrill Brabec and Josh Girmus were guests.
We approved the agenda. Connie motioned, and Rick seconded, that we approve the minutes of the January 29th meeting. All agreed.
We closed our regular meeting and opened a public hearing on the Selkos’ request to replat Lots 1 through 3 into 2 lots in Mead Public Schools Subdivision No. 2. Rick motioned, and Connie seconded, to recommend this change. All agreed.
A subsequent public hearing discussed addition of storage containers as a permitted condition use for up to six months with a possibility of one extension and then are required to be removed. A permit shall be obtained from the Village Clerk prior to placement, in Chapter 11 zoning regulations, including 11-305 (Suburban Residential), 11-306 (Single Family Residential) and 11-307 (Multiple Family District). Connie motioned, and Rick seconded that we recommend these changes. All agreed.
As part of this public hearing we discussed performance standards for 11-314 (Ag Industrial). Connie motioned, and Rick seconded, that we recommend adoption of the listed odor and noise standards. All agreed.
Rick motioned, Levi seconded, and all agreed recommending additional regulations, 11-416 (Propane Tanks) including that the State Fire Marshall inspect proposed locations of propane tanks instead of the Mead Fire Chief.
A separate public hearing to discuss a duplex being built by Tyler Buraske on an oblong lot at 420 S. Cedar Street was held. It would not meet setbacks. However, it would not create a vision hazard. Levi motioned, and Rick seconded that we recommend this request. All agreed.
We closed the public hearing(s) and went on to our regular meeting.
Keshia and Lyle Havelka submitted a building permit application for a house with an attached garage to be built at 116 N. Vine. Levi motioned, and Rick seconded that we approve the permit. All agreed.
John Girmus submitted a building permit application for outside RV storage and chain link fence at 1067 Sunburst, which is light industrial. The fence will have barbed wire on top of it. Connie motioned, and Rick seconded, that we approve the permit. All agreed.
At 8:16 p.m. the meeting was adjourned.
