Here Comes Santa Claus!
Santa Claus will visit the students at Mead Elementary School at 9:00 am and will then go to the Bank of Mead with an approximate arrival time of 10:00 am. At this publication, Santa does not know the day he will be coming to Mead, so you will have to wait for future information to be posted on flyers.

BANK OF MEAD HOLIDAY LIGHT FIGHT
It’s that time of year again to brighten the outside of your home for the holidays. Show off your holiday light decorating skills this year and compete to win a prize(s). Enter by December 13, 2024 by submitting your name and address to the Bank of Mead 402-624-2255. Winner(s) will be announced the week of December 16th.
CHRISTMAS COLORING CONTEST
The Bank of Mead is sponsoring a coloring contest for kids Preschool through grade 6. There are four age groups: Kindergarten or younger, Grades 1 – 2, 3 – 4, and 5 – 6. Prizes will be awarded. Coloring sheets are available at the bank and in Mead Elementary student’s classrooms. Please make sure the child’s name, phone number, age, and grade are included on the BACK of the coloring sheet and return it to the Bank of Mead by NOON, DECEMBER 16 for judging.

BRINGING JOY TO THE HOLIDAYS
If you wish to “adopt” a family member for Christmas, please stop by the Bank of Mead and grab a tag from the Christmas tree after November 28. You will need to have your purchased item(s) returned to the bank by December 16 so they can ensure everyone receives a wrapped gift and that it can be given back to the Mead Public School for delivery. If you would prefer to make a monetary donation rather than shop, please turn that in to the Bank of Mead by December 9 so they have time to purchase gifts with it.

Congratulations to Jason Lee and Daniel Simon for being re-elected to a four-year term on the Village of Mead Board of Trustees at the November 5 General Election.
DUMP GUIDELINES – The dumpsite is available to Mead residents ONLY! The only items permitted are tree branches, weeds, leaves, and grass clippings. All items are to be unbagged. There is also a metal/iron dumpster on site for disposal of these types of items ONLY!
If there happens to be a snowstorm or heavy rain the dump may be closed until weather permits.
The Village of Mead is accepting applications for a Part-time Police Officer.

Coffee Hour: Join us for coffee and conversation on Tuesday, December 3, at 10a.
Tuesday, December 3 – The Mead Public Library Board will have its monthly meeting at 6p. The session is open to the public.
Saturday, December 7 – Mead Hometown Holiday Party at the Firehall 4p-630p. Stop by the library table and write a letter to Santa. Treats provided by The Friends of the Mead Public Library.
Wednesday, December 11 – Join the group that meets for the library’s Adult Book Club at 630p. We supply the books! Just bring yourself and a drink.
Mondays, December 2, 9, and 16 – Participate in an Adult DIY Craft Night from 6p-8p. Bring your own craft to work on and enjoy the conversation and fun.
Monday, December 23 – Kids of all ages, come watch a Holiday Movie with us at 6p and enjoy some popcorn. Bring your own covered drink.
Thursday, December 26 – Kids ages 8 and older, join us at 4p to make a Holiday Craft.

WHEN IT SNOWS . . .
Upon a snowfall of 2” or more, you are required to remove any vehicle from the street until the street has been cleared of snow. Any vehicle parked on any street or alley obstructing the removal of snow may be ticketed or immediately removed upon order of the Police Chief or Board of Trustees. All sidewalks are to be cleared of snow within 24 hours after the cessation of the snow storm.

VILLAGE MEETING MINUTES
A regular meeting of the Village of Mead Board of Trustees was held November 12, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Village Office. Answering roll call were Chairman Thorson; Trustees: Felty, Lee, Simon, and Wielage. Also present was Clerk Moline. Guests were Lisa Flesner, Kylee Hickman, Lindsay Conti, Richard LaCroix, and Adam Wimer.
SCHEDULED GUESTS: Lisa Flesner presented the October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024 Audit Report. The report was accepted as presented. Lindsay Conti addressed the board with concerns of vehicles speeding on First Street. As noted below, Radar Speed Signs will be installed along with speed limit signs.
REPORTS: Utilities Superintendent – Luetkenhaus’ written report was presented noting completion of monthly duties, issues at the water treatment plant and wastewater plant, tractor repairs, and grant application for Radar Speed Signs. Library – The minutes of the November 5 Board Meeting were accepted and noted was the resignation of Sara Else from the board. Clerk – Moline reported a concern regarding chickens within village limits and possibility of a playground area on the south side of town.
NEW BUSINESS: Ordinance No. 837, Set wage for Library Aide was adopted. Change Order #3 to M.E. Collins for street project in the amount of $69,181.94 and KENO application to D&H Meadery DBA The Goat were approved. Cat Project activity was reviewed. A letter was read from JEO seeking appointment as village engineer for 2025.
Discussion was held on the police position and the near completion of the First/Pine Street Project.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
