DOG AND CAT VACCINATION CLINIC AND LICENSE DAY
Saturday, March 30, 2019

1:30 – 3:00 PM
Dr. Dobesh from Green Acre Animal Clinic, Wahoo, will be present to administer pet vaccinations and the Village Clerk will be available to issue dog and cat licenses with proof of current rabies vaccination. Cost to license your pet is $4.00 altered, $6.00 intact.
Available will be vaccinations for rabies, distemper, parvo, and kennel cough for dogs and rabies and distemper for cats. Products available to purchase will be Heartgard and Frontline. Blood tests for heartworm will also be administered on-site.
All dogs and cats residing within the village limits of Mead are required to be licensed by MAY 1. Licenses may be obtained at the village office during regular business hours. Another option is to mail or deliver to the drop box by the front door, the required paperwork and payment and they and the license will be returned to you.

Library Hours
Tuesday 10am-8pm (closed 3pm-4pm) Friday 9am-1pm
Wednesday 5pm-8pm Saturday 9am-12noon
Thursday 1pm-8pm (closed 3pm-4pm) Closed: Sunday and Monday
Monthly Schedule
Coffee Hour is scheduled every Tuesday at 10am. Come for coffee and conversation.
Story Time for young children is offered every Tuesday at 4pm. We will read a book or two, make a craft, and pick up a take home treat.
The Mead Public Library Board of Trustees next regular-scheduled meeting will be Monday, April 15, 2019, at 530pm in the Library. The public is invited to attend and participate in the session.
The Lunch Bunch Book Club will gather Friday, April 19, from 11am-Noon. Join us for discussion of this month’s book.
Special Events
Tuesday, April 2 – At a special Story Time we’ll be planting seeds for the library garden. Please dress accordingly.
Thursday, April 18 – Spring Craft Night for Kids. Come from 6-7pm and welcome spring with some craft activities.
Wednesday, April 24 – Join us at 630pm for Bunco! Beginners are welcome. Bring a dish to share.
Youth Ages 0-5 Years Old (or any child who has not yet started kindergarten) – Begin a new, ongoing program called 1000 Books Before Kindergarten! This program, for Mead children is offered to families at no cost by the Nebraska Library Commission Youth Grants for Excellence 2018. Stop in the library to learn more and to sign up your young reader.

Dump Guidelines – Items permitted are weeds, tree branches, leaves, and grass clippings. All items are required to be unbagged. There is also a roll-off available to dispose of your metal/iron materials. Everyone please abide by these guidelines to insure that the dump may remain open 24/7. The dump is available for use by Mead residents only!
All-Terrain Vehicles – Utility-type Vehicles and Golf Car Vehicles are required to be licenses within the Village of Mead. Contact the village office or the Police Chief to obtain or renew your permit by APRIL 1. The permits expire annually on March 31.
VILLAGE OF MEAD BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEET MARCH 12 ~
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held March 12 at 6:00 p.m. at the Village Office. Roll called showed the following members present: Trustees Felty, Thorson, Wielage, and Wimer. Absent was Chairman Guyle. Also present were Clerk Moline, Library Director VanAckeren, and Planning Commission Chair Weible. Guests were Viki Miller, Scott and Jenifer Morin, Julie Ogden, and Mary Mayfield.
SCHEDULED GUESTS: Street Superintendent Julie Ogden, JEO Consulting, reported on the paving project along N. Oak St. Scott Morin presented material and discussions with agency representatives regarding the odor emitted by products produced at AltEn. Jody Weible reported on a recent meeting with Senator Bostelman and agency representatives regarding the odor emitted from cake produced at AltEn. Craig Reinsch, Olsson, discussed the water roject via a telephone conference.
UNSCHEDULED GUESTS: Laurie VanAckeren and Viki Miller were present with interest of the amendment to the Library Director’s duties.
REPORTS: Police: The monthly police report was presented. Planning Commission: The minutes of the February 25 regular meeting and the resignation of Jody Weible were accepted. Library: The minutes of the February 18 Library Board meeting were accepted. Clerk: Moline presented a list of water meters requiring maintenance.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Action was taken to approve third reading and adopt Ord. No. 723 to amend Building Permits and second reading of Ord. No’s. 725, 726, and 727, Trash Removal Agreement with Waste Connections, Roadrunner Transportation, and S-2 Refuse and Recycling.
NEW BUSINESS: Action was taken to approve a Common Board Facility Agreement with Mead Public Schools; approved first reading of Ord. No. 728 to amend Snow Removal; adopted Resolution 19-07, Duties of the Library Director; and approved local recommendation for a Special Designated Liquor License to 3WG, LLC, dba G&L Café for a June 16 Car Show / Live Music located at 102 W. Fourth St. The meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
