Regular Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, July 20, 2016
The Mead Public Library Board of Trustees met in regular session on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Mead Public Library. Acting President Kristi Kavan called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M. Trustees present were Kristi Kavan, Viki Miller and Dale Rawson. Trustees absent were Denise Patocka and Jill Leise. Also present were Lori Moseman and Laurie Van Ackeren. Scott Childers attended the meeting to discuss the Strengths-Weaknesses-Opportunities-Threats (SWOT) form currently being developed.
The SWOT form was reviewed with the trustees, staff and Mr. Childers. Review began at 5:30 P.M. and concluded at 6:40 P.M. Kristi Kavan will summarize and reformat the information discussed and share with trustees and staff. Continued work on the SWOT will be scheduled for the August meeting. Following discussion of the SWOT form, Mr. Childers left the meeting.
Motion by Rawson seconded by Miller to approve the minutes of the May 2016 meeting. Voting yes: Kavan, Miller, Rawson. Voting no: none. Motion carried 3-0.
Motion by Rawson seconded by Kavan to approve the financial reports and staff reports for May and June. . Voting yes: Miller, Rawson, Kavan. Voting no: none. Motion carried 3-0.
Motion by Kavan seconded by Miller to approve the purchase of a new printer with extended warranty and extra ink cartridges for a price not to exceed $200.00. . Voting yes: Rawson, Kavan, Miller. Voting no: none. Motion carried 3-0.
Staff requested the board review the pending budget proposal to be submitted to the Village Trustees. Motion by Kavan seconded by Miller to recommend an hourly increase of $0.75/hour and an additional five (5) hours per week to a total of 30 hours per week for library staff with other budgeted lines as noted on the spreadsheet presented. . Voting yes: Kavan, Miller, Rawson. Voting no: none. Motion carried 3-0.
Being no further business before the Board of Trustees, Acting President Kavan declared the meeting adjourned at 6:53 P.M.
