Mead Public Library Board Meeting Minutes

A.   Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 5:36pm.

 

B.   Roll Call of Members Present

Members Present: Paulette Mayfield (2020), Marty Hagemann (2020), Viki Miller (2020)

Members Absent: Layla Giorgakopoulos (2018)

Staff Present: Laurie Van Ackeren

 

C.  Recognize Guests/Public Items of Discussion

No guests were present.

 

D.  Staff Reports

Director Report – Van Ackeren stated new carpet will be installed September 7

Board Member Reports – None

 

E.   Approval of Minutes, Bills and Financial, and Activity Reports for July 2017

Motion by Mayfield to approve as printed. Second by Hagemann. Voting Yes: Mayfield, Hagemann, Miller. Voting No: None.

 

F.   Business Items

1.   Discuss non-resident library cards                                                                       

To increase patronage, beginning October 1, 2017, library will waive non-resident fees.  Board will evaluate in one year.  There will be no refunds, the renewal fee will be waived at expiration. Motion by Mayfield to approve. Second by Hagemann. Voting Yes: Mayfield, Hagemann, Miller. Voting No: None.

     

      2.   Review Library card application form                                                                    

        The Patron Application form was amended.       

          

3.   Other Business                                                                                                     

A.   Painting the peak on the front of the building was discussed. Van Ackeren will contact Darrin to get a bid. 

B.  Election of board officers is scheduled for September.  Board currently short one member.
