Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, February 7, 2023

1. Meeting was called to order by Jen Lee at 6:03 pm.  Open Meetings Act poster was pointed out on the west wall of the back room.
2. Roll Call:
   1. Members Present-Mayfield (2024), Hickman (2024), Lee (2026)
   2. Member Absent-
   3. Also Present-Library Director-Laurie Van Ackeren, Sara Else, Cara Simon
3. Guests or Public Items to discuss.
   1. Our two guests were introduced.

5. Director’s Report
   45. January stats were reviewed. Increased visitors by 27 and increased circulation by 45.
   46. Member amount saved $1224.24.
   47. Coffee hour – 8 attended today!! Monthly average has been 3.
   48. Open Craft Time will be here on Thursdays from 6-8pm. Bring your materials and enjoy some social time.
   49. New printers have arrived. Village Clerk has informed us that the old ones will be stored in the basement until they can enter the auction protocol.
   50. We will be starting an adult (21 and over) book club on the 2^nd Wednesday of the month at 6:30, beginning on March 8^th. When title and copies are available, we will post on Facebook.
   51. Mardi Gras party February 21 from 4-5.
   52. Seuss Party March 2 from 3:30 – 4:30.
   53. Wooden Heart Craft Feb 9 at 6pm or Feb 14 at 11am.
   54. Diane Brownstone donated 100 new children’s books!!!!!
   55. Mary will stop by on Thursdays to initial timecards.
   56. Summer Reading Program – Tales and tails.
       1. We will ask friends to pay for the Wildlife Encounter.
       2. UNL Extension will be here the week of May 30^th.
   57. Board Member Reports-
       1. New Members:
          1. Sara Else – Moved by Mayfield, 2^nd Hickman – Motion passed.
          2. Cara Simon – Moved by Lee, 2^nd by Hickman – Motion passed.
       2. Minutes, Bills, Financials, and Monthly Reports for January.
          1. Mayfield moved to approve.
          2. Seconded by Lee.
          3. Motion carried.
       3. Policy Review – Tabled until next month.
       4. Meeting adjourned at 7:32
