Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, April 1, 2025
- Meeting was called to order by Kylee Hickman at 6:21pm. Open Meetings Act poster was pointed out on the west wall of the back room.
- Roll Call:
- Members Present: Cara Simon (2027), Amanda Schaal (2028), Kylee Hickman (2028)
- Members Absent: Jenn Lee (2026)
- Library Employees Present: Director-Laurie VanAckeren
- Library Employees Absent: Lori Moseman and Roberta Kisling

- January minutes reviewed.
- Hickman moved to approve January minutes as presented. Second by Schaal. Motion carried. Unanimous approval.

- Open Discussion from the Public: None
- Bills, Financials, and Monthly Reports for February and March
- February and March Bills/Financial transactions reports were reviewed.
- Simon moved to approve February and March Bills, Financials, and Monthly Reports. Second by Hickman. Motion carried. Unanimous approval.

- New Business/Director’s Report
- Stats for February and March were reviewed. Most areas down a bit, likely due to snowy weather. Libby circulation stayed consistent.
- Craft Retreat this Saturday 4/26, 9a-11p. The last retreat was a huge success, and we are excited for another event with longer hours. We appreciate the Friends of the Library hosting the event. Per the Board’s understanding, as they are hosting, all snacks and food are provided by the Friends.
- The Friends are also hosting a pie/book/Christmas decor sale on May 3rd during the Community wide garage sale event. Each Library Board member is asked to donate a pie. Thank you, Friends!
- We have received multiple donations from community members and businesses for Summer Reading Program scheduled for June 9-12, 10a-11a. New this summer will be a teen (3rd-6th grade) summer book club.

- Review and Approve New Security Camera Policy
- Hickman moved to approve Security Camera Policy as stated. Schaal seconded. Unanimous approval. Security Camera Policy approved.

- The Board held discussion on finding a new Trustee.
