PROCEEDINGS – VILLAGE OF MEAD BOARD OF TRUSTEES
SPECIAL MEETING
December 9, 2019
A Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mead, NE was held December 9, 2019 at the Village Office. Chairman Guyle called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Notice of the meeting was provided in advance thereof by posting notice at the Bank of Mead, US Post Office, and the Village Office as shown by the certificate of posting notice attached to these minutes. Advance notice was also provided to all members of the Board of Trustees. All proceedings were held while the convened meeting was open to the public. Roll call showed the following board members present: Chairman Gary Guyle; Trustees Jason Felty, William Thorson, Richard Wielage and Rodney Wimer. Also present were Clerk June Moline and Utilities/Maintenance Superintendent Nick Raver.
Guyle noted the Posting of the Open Meetings Law.
Motion by Felty, second by Thorson, to adopt the agenda. Vote: Felty-yes, Guyle-yes, Thorson-yes, Wielage-yes, Wimer-yes; motion carried 5-0.
Guyle explained the purpose of the meeting was to discuss concerns and the progress of the water project. A list of concerns will be presented to Engineer Reinsch at the December 10 regular meeting of the trustees. Noted was the concern of only one bid which was considerably higher than originally estimated for Phase II. Reinsch had reported he has planned to seek bids again in four to six months for the project. Discussion also centered on filling the new water tower. The representative from Maquire Iron had contacted Nick that if the tower was filled at this time, the paint will not adhere once painted in the spring due to condensation.
Motion by Felty, second by Wimer, to adjourn at 5:53 p.m. Vote: Guyle-yes, Thorson-yes, Wielage-yes, Wimer-yes, Felty-yes; motion carried 5-0.
